BUSH FOODS
The country around Twin Lakes is rich and abundant in bush foods. Nyul Nyul people were able to live comfortably between the land and sea, moving around country with the change in seasons, as different fruits and berries ripened, and other foods became available. There was always food in season. If fruits weren’t ripe, the saps or gims were available. With bush food, almost all parts of the plant were either edible or useful for medicine.
Being so close to the ocean, there was also a bountiful supply of seasonal seafood..
